Warning about emails containing viruses, misleadingly claiming to be sent from FACTOR.BG

Warning about emails containing viruses, misleadingly claiming to be sent from FACTOR.BG

Attention

We have received several calls that emails with VIRUSES are being sent, with the text of these messages made to look as if they were written by us, but in English.
FACTOR.BG has nothing to do with these emails, there is no breach in our database, site or email account.
Most of the recipients have never had contact with FACTOR.BG.

How to recognize that the email is not real:

  • Check the email address in the sender field "From: (or From: in English)" - if one of the usual FACTOR.BG email addresses is not listed there, delete the letter.
Even if the address looks real, check the following signs, because PHP scripts can send e-mail messages with random and even non-existent addresses in the sender field "From: (or From: in English)".
  • FACTOR.BG does not send e-mail messages without an exact sender address in the "From: (or From: in English)" field.
  • Check the e-mail address in the "To: (or To: in English)" field - it must correspond exactly to your e-mail address. FACTOR.BG never sends a message without an exact and specific recipient address, nor spam messages to many addresses listed in the "To: (or To: in English)" field.
  • Check "Cc: (or Cc: in English)" - if there is another address there that is not your employee or an employee of FACTOR.BG, then it is spam or phishing, delete it.
  • Check the "Subject: (or Subject: in English)" field - if there is unexpected, incomprehensible or illogical information, or information entirely in English, then it is spam or phishing, delete it.
  • Check for attached files - if they have an extension other than .pdf or .jpg, they are most likely viruses. Do not open them in any case!
  • Review the main text - if there is unexpected, incomprehensible or illogical information, or information entirely in English, then it is spam or phishing, delete it.
  • ALWAYS USE MODERN AND UPDATED ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAM - the creators of fake emails are becoming more and more inventive, sometimes it is possible that even a careful person can be misled and click on a link or attachment! In such cases, a good antivirus program is of utmost importance!

Be careful, be healthy!

We wish you a happy summer!
